Homework week 5

Publish your Waimarino poem on a piece of coloured paper.
Teacher example:
Tips- edit your work. Set out in poetry style!

Have you ever smelled Waimarino
Sure you have
Remember that time
When you stood nervously on the high board
Feeling very scared
As you looked way down at the raging river
And you took a deep breath and jumped
Remember that awesome feeling as you hit the water
And you felt great inside
That was Waimarino

Have you ever smelled the hydroslide
Sure you have
Remember that time
When you got ready on the huge slide
Feeling very excited
As you looked down the high ramp
And you took a deep breath and slid
Remember how you raced down screaming
And how you smashed into the water
That was the hydro slide

Have you ever smelled_______________
Sure you have
Remember that time

Fantastic Waimarino

A lovely soak in the spa
Tiana is in the river after the water slide.

Kereru Whanau had a brilliant trip to the Waimarino Adventure Park on Thursday.
The morning was spent on the Wairoa River learning kayaking skills and safety. Some pupils even had to perform rescues and were able to practice and try and perfect the T Rescue. Luckily the river was quite shallow so there was no danger. Attempting to "raft up" and hold on was quite challenging! Special thanks to instructor Chris for his enthusiasm and patience.
In the afternoon the pupils took part in the water adventure activities. These included going down the amazing water slide, diving from the diving boards, swinging from the Tarzan swing, jumping onto the blob, wrestling on the gladiator pole or just relaxing in the lovely hot spa pool.
A special thanks to the parents that helped out with transport and supervision on the day.
( Jack Sirimuangmool, Carla Halidone, Sam Worner, Nathan Baxter, Ted Glasgow, Mariyann Al-Saadi, Anglea Hetet and Lynton Rowling)
Also to Waimarino manager Drew and his staff for his help on the day.
