Calendar Art

The theme for this years Calendar Art was "silhouettes". If you look at the art you will see a shadow outline of a face. Combined with the background colour- they look fantastic!

Swimming notice

A notice has been given out about swimming.
The pupils will receive 10 consecutive lessons between 18th-29th November.
Three groups at a time will be instructed by a qualified Baywave swimming instructor.
The pupils will be transported to Baywave by bus.
There will be a charge of $20. The remaining cost is covered by the NZ Water Safety funding.
You may pay this at the school office or contact them to organise installments.
This is a really exciting opportunity for our children.

Science Rotations 22 August

The rotations involved cooking. One of the groups made cottage cheese.
How they made it:
- Pour one litre of a milk in a bowl.
- Heat it in a microwave for 4 minutes.
- Add 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid with half a cup of warm water.
- Add the water to the heated milk.
- Watch for the change of colour and the milk curdling.
- Stir the milk to make it curdle.
- Sieve the milk through a cloth and collect your "cheese" form the top.
"Hey it worked!"
