Steamers Visit 21 August

On Wednesday 21 August, 4 players from the Steamers Rugby Team (BOP Reps) visited the school and spoke at the school assembly. The players were a bit battered and bruised after a narrow loss to Otago on the Sunday. Kane Hames, Tim Bond, Steve Honey and Tino Nemani were the visiting players. The theme of the visit was to talk about the "Bully No More" campaign and to use your wits. They spoke about some strategies to use like: walking away, ignoring it, telling someone and seeking help. They also mentioned the value of playing together as a group and not being on your own.
Some lucky pupils won some rugby balls and tickets to the Steamers game against Hawkes Bay on Sunday.
