Dear Parents/Caregivers,
A warm welcome for Term 3. We are very busy in our 2nd week back for the term.
Homework
For the next 2 weeks will be speeches. Their speech may be on any topic, 3-4 minutes long.Please support their learning through helping to prepare their speech, develop cue cards, practice presentation skills and delivery.
Class and Team speeches will take place in Week 4. The TCS Speech competition will held in Week 5.
Student Teacher
Once again we have been selected to host a student teacher. Daniel Priest is in his second year of training and will be with us for the next 6 weeks. We look forward to supporting Daniel in his training.
Assembly
Our Whanau Assembly is on Friday 30 August. Please pop up to the classrooms after, to share morning tea with us.
Science Rotations
Inspired by the fantastic Fonterra Science Fair, the team will be completing Science rotations on Thursday afternoons. For the next 2 weeks they will looking at: ICT Science, magnetism, electricity and air pressure.
Numeracy
Measurement is our focus for the first 4 weeks. This includes telling the time with both analogue and digital time.
Class Novel
We are reading "Journey to Tangiwai" by David Hill. We have been discussing comparisons between the year 1953 and 2013. The story is written in Journal style so we have started writing our own diaries.
